Willmar firefighters put out a grass fire that was reported around 1:21 p.m. Tuesday north of Willmar Senior High School. Jim Larson, battalion chief for the Willmar Fire Department, said the blaze was caused by a compost pile that had started on fire. Larson said firefighters were on the scene for less than a half hour. He said the fire was contained and the blaze did not get close to any buildings. (GARY MILLER | TRIBUNE)
