Two officers from the Willmar Police Department remain on standard leave as the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigates a shooting Sunday on the 400 block of 11th Street Northwest of Willmar. Dash cam video did not capture the events in the backyard of the home, and the city of Willmar is still in the process of equipping officers with body cameras.

The city of Willmar is exploring the possible purchase of the old Hardware Hank Express building, which is located directly behind the City Auditorium and adjacent to the City Office Building. The property could be used to expand the city offices.

Willmar Police and Minnesota State Patrol officers respond to what was reported as an officer-involved shooting Sunday on the 400 block of 11th Street Northwest of Willmar. Personnel from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension also responded to the scene.
