City approval has been given for construction of a new Dairy Queen Grill & Chill at the corner of First Street South and Terrace Drive Southwest in Willmar. The location is south of the former Mills Auto site, and across First Street from Cub Foods and Grizzly's.

Dogs at Hawk Creek Animal Shelter in Willmar remain under quarantine after a case of canine influenza was confirmed at the shelter earlier this month. The quarantine, expected to last at least three weeks, is nearing the end of its second week. Twenty dogs are affected.
