ST. PAUL — Minnesota Farmers Union awarded Dale and Grace Fladeboe with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their years of contributions to the organization and to family agriculture.
They both grew up on crop and livestock family farms in Kandiyohi County — Dale in central Kandiyohi County and Grace in the northwest part of the county. They continued crop and livestock farming, along with operating Fladeboe Auction and Land Sales, and Grace Fladeboe also taught family and consumer life science.
The award was presented late last year at the annual Minnesota Farmers Union convention.
According to the news release announcing the award, Dale and Grace Fladeboe feel that Farmers Union has helped them educate the public by being a positive role model and sharing positive experiences and advantages of family farm life. They have been vocal cheerleaders to gain respect for the occupation of farming.
Their children — Kimberly, Kristine and Glen — feel their farm roots have been instrumental in shaping their lives and will continue to voice the importance of Farmers Union and family farm life, while operating Fladeboe Auction and Land Sales.
