Stolen police handgun belonged to Upper Sioux Community police officer

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo Police Department is still investigating the reported theft of an Upper Sioux Community Police Department officer's handgun from his Fargo motel room.

The stolen .380 Ruger pistol was reported stolen Saturday from a room at the C'mon Inn at 4338 20th Ave. S. in Fargo.

The officer reporting the pistol theft is a member of the four-person department providing law enforcement for the Upper Sioux Community.

Fargo Sgt. Ross Renner said the officer called police at 12:40 p.m. Saturday from the motel saying he couldn't find his police handgun.

The Fargo police spokesman said it appears the gun was stolen. The case remains under investigation.
