2wheeler blog: No rain on day 4 of Pedal for Project Impact

Bob pedals down the Heartland State Trail on day 4 of Pedal for Project Impact.

June 6, 2013

Route: Park Rapids to Bemidji, Minnesota, on Heartland and Paul Bunyan state trails and around Lake Bemidji on the PB Trail and other trails and county roads.

Distance: 83.6 miles

Time: 7 hours, 22 minutes

Average speed: 11.33 mph

The clouds were dark gray most of today, but it hasn’t rained so far. In fact, in the past few hours, the sun has, with increasing success, struggled to shine on Bemidji.

It was threatening but the street were dry at 7:05 a.m. this morning when we left Park Rapids. It was cool, but, as Bob said, that’s good biking weather, as long as it isn’t raining.

We rode over much of the same territory on the Heartland and Paul Bunyan state trails that we covered yesterday. There were stretches of the trails that were wet, but we weren’t and that was great.
