WILLMAR — The temperature was 22 degrees for the 9 a.m. start compared to the low 60s in the first running of the St. Patrick’s Day Red Beard Run which was on March 17 last year.
The 7K run (4.35 miles) listed 164 finishers on the Pickle Events web site. Last year 200 made the inaugural run in t-shirts and shorts during last year’s record March heat wave. Minnesota recorded a record–high 80 degrees a year ago on St. Pat’s Day.
Marty Janning of Willmar was first in a time of 28:09. The first woman was Tracy Sik, also of Willmar, in a time of 30:10, which was 11th place overall.
