18-year-old arrested in Wednesday evening assault, shotgun incident in Willmar
WILLMAR -- An 18-year-old Willmar teen has been arrested on charges of second- and fifth-degree assault in connection to a Wednesday evening assault that included firing a shotgun at another man.
According to a news release from Willmar Police Chief David Wyffels, Daniel Garza Jr. was arrested after a search warrant was conducted at the Regency Estates East where the incident happened.
Officers were called around 6:20 p.m. regarding the assault that happened around 4:25 p.m. at a trailer along the 1400 block of Lakeland Drive Northeast.
The assault included a physical fight and the firing of a shotgun in the direction of the victim. The man suffered minor injuries.
The Willmar Police were assisted by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's office and the Willmar Ambulance Service.
