2 suspects arrested on drug charges in Willmar, Minn.

WILLMAR -- Two suspects were arrested and face drug charges after a search warrant was executed in Willmar Wednesday morning by members of the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force, the Willmar Police Department and Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.

A 35-year-old man and 44-year-old woman were taken into custody.

During the search at a mobile home at Regency West, more than 50 grams of cocaine and at least 1,000 grams of marijuana were recovered, according to a news release issued this morning by David Wyffels, Willmar chief of police.

A stolen handgun also was recovered.

Wyffels said numerous felony charges are pending against the pair, including first-degree possession and sales drug charges, charges of methamphetamine paraphernalia found in the presence of a child, and possession of a stolen firearm.

An aggressive pit bull also was removed from the residence and taken to the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter, according to the news release. No one was injured during the incident.
