2011 county budget expected to get final vote Thursday
WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners is expected to vote Thursday on the final 2011 budget and levy.
The action is on the agenda for the board's 10 a.m. meeting, which is being held Thursday this week, rather than today, to allow the commissioners to attend the annual convention of the Association of Minnesota Counties.
That convention began Monday in St. Cloud.
It will conclude Wednesday.
Also on the agenda for the Thursday meeting, the commissioners will hear application for local tax abatements and hear a request by the state Department of Natural Resources' fisheries section to purchase land on Norway Lake.
The commissioners will also consider a proposed joint powers agreement with PACT 4 and an environmental health services agreement with the Redwood-Renville Community Health Board.
At 9 a.m., prior to the board meeting, the commissioners will meet as the Family Services Committee.
Items on that agenda include reports on the Kandiyohi Area Transit, the Community Addiction and Recovery Enterprises, Project Turnabout and Lutheran Social Services.
The commissioners meet on the second floor of the Health and Human Services building, located at 2200 23rd St. N.E. in Willmar.
