22-year-old Minneapolis man delivering food to neighbor shot and killed
MINNEAPOLIS -- Police say a young Minneapolis man biking to a neighbor's house to deliver some food was shot and killed by three boys who wanted his bike.
Twenty-two-year-old Jody Patzner Jr. collapsed on the sidewalk and died just blocks from his home Monday night in north Minneapolis. Police are looking for his assailants.
Patzner's stepmother, Tara Hesser, says her stepson was delivering a plate of lasagna to a family friend when he was shot. The Hennepin County Medical Exmainer's office says Patzner died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
The Star Tribune says the assailants ran off as Patzner tried to ride away, but collapsed. Neighbors and others rushed to his side as paramedics were called. Patzner was pronounced dead at the scene.
