911 working in Kandiyohi County, YM County calls rerouted to Lyon Co.

WILLMAR -- Emergency 911 calls are being received in Kandiyohi County, but other area counties are having difficulties with emergency calls.

Yellow Medicine County is having some technical difficulties with phone lines and 911 calls. Currently, county dispatch is unable to receive any administrative or emergency calls.

All of Yellow Medicine 911 calls will be routed through Lyon County. Qwest is working on the problem and unknown when the lines will be fully functional again.

Stevens County Emergency Management asks anyone having difficulty calling 911 to use a cell phone or call the sheriff's office at 320-208-6500.
