ACHIEVE program is Wednesday
WILLMAR — ACHIEVE, a healthy community initiative of the Kandiyohi YMCA, is hosting a panel for business owners and human relations professionals to learn about the benefits and consequences of employee wellness.
The event will be 7:30-9 a.m. Wednesday in Gallery 6 at the Holiday Inn and Willmar Conference Center. Cost is $10, which includes breakfast. Reservations are preferred by registering online or calling the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce office at 320-235-0300.
Featured speakers are Lynn Skordahl, Duininck Companies; Jeff Kennedy, certified clinical exercise specialist, exercise physiologist with Affiliated Community Medical Centers; Katherine Claussen, Rice Hospital; and Casey Schultz, Blue Cross Blue Shield. Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medica Wellness Consultants are also expected to attend.
The Willmar Community ACHIEVE team is a group of volunteer experts interested in making a healthier Willmar. Formed in 2010, ACHIEVE’s vision is to advocate for policies that promote healthy behavior. It is on Facebook and the web at healthywillmar.org.
Jennie-O promotes Jones, Burch in local positions
WILLMAR — Jennie-O Turkey Store of Willmar announces the promotion of Angie Jones and Dennis Burch.
Jones is being promoted to manager, risk and workers compensation. She has been with the company for 21 years. She has been the workers compensation administrator for the past 15 years and will continue to be headquartered out of the Spicer office.
She has a bachelor’s degree in math education/chemistry from Concordia College.
Burch is being promoted to workers compensation administrator and will also be headquartered in the Spicer office. Burch has been working in the company’s benefit department since 2006.
“Angie and Dennis are excellent examples of the growth opportunities that exist at Jennie-O Turkey Store,” said Pat Solheid, vice president of human resources and administration.
