ACM to market e-games at statewide meetings
WILLMAR -- Allied Charities of Minnesota is hosting regional informational meetings in June to discuss electronic gaming and opportunities for local charities.
A meeting will be held in Willmar from 5 to 8 p.m. June 18 at the American Legion, 220 19th Ave. S.W. A light meal and beverages will be provided.
The meetings are open to qualified charities that operate gaming. Information will be provided about the potential for e-games for charitable gaming operators.
Attendees of these meetings will be able to review firsthand electronic pulltab and electronic bingo devices that currently are available, ask questions of e-gaming manufacturers and distributors, and learn about early success charities are having with e-games.
The Minnesota Vikings are providing support for the informational programs. The team has donated several prizes, including a 12-person suite to the team's home opener on Sept. 22 against the Cleveland Browns.
Representatives of the Gambling Control Board, Minnesota Licensed Beverage Association and Department of Revenue will be participate in the meetings and will provide information on e-gaming oversight, site perspective and taxes.
