ACMC breaks ground for new Marshall, Minn., clinic

MARSHALL -- A groundbreaking ceremony was held today in Marshall for a new Affiliated Community Medical Centers clinic building. ACMC administration, board members and providers joined together in turning soil for the new facility, which will allow for one common location to house primary and specialty care services.

"We've outgrown our existing space and knew we needed to expand in order to continue meeting the health care needs of the Marshall community and surrounding area," said Ronald Holmgren, chief executive and president of ACMC.

The new ACMC-Marshall clinic will be located south of the ACMC-Marshall Market Street Clinic, next to the present Kmart on Carlson Street. The two-story building will be approximately 45,000 square feet and will include space for primary care, specialty services, visiting specialists, lab and imaging, including the addition of magnetic resonance imaging.

"The new clinic will allow us to accommodate more services for our patients in a convenient setting," said Dr. Joe Willett of ACMC. "It also gives us the opportunity to fulfill our mission to improve the health of our communities and maintain our role as the health care leader of choice."

The target completion date for the new building is February 2013.

With the opening of the new ACMC-Marshall main clinic, the existing ACMC-Marshall Market Street location will house support services and the new ACMC-Marshall Sleep Center opening this spring.

ACMC,a regional multi-specialty health network whose headquarters are in Willmar, has had a presence in Marshall for 25 years.
