Adam Hoekstra Sept. 19, 1985 - July 10, 2009

FARMINGTON -- Adam Carl Hoekstra, 24, of Farmington and formerly of Spicer, died Friday at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. Burial is in Spicer City Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church and will continue for one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in New London.

He was born Sept. 19, 1985, in Willmar to Lloyd and Debra (Nord) Hoekstra. He grew up in Spicer and graduated from New London-Spicer High School in 2004. He played football and golf while in high school. He graduated in 2008 from North Dakota State University in Fargo, with a double major in communications and public relations.

On Oct. 25, 2008, he married Alyssa Wilson at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. They lived in Apple Valley and recently bought a home in Farmington. He was a regional director for Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife; his parents of Spicer; and a brother: Nathan (and fiancée, Amber Borka) of Spicer.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
