MONTEVIDEO -- Adeline Amelia Sommerfeld, 93, of Dell Rapids, S.D., formerly of Montevideo, died Wednesday in Dell Rapids.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens in Camp Release Township, Lac qui Parle County.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield.
She was born July 3, 1915, to Adolph and Emma (Eckhardt) Hartfiel.
She married Arthur Sommerfeld on Jan. 21, 1925, in Boyd. They rented a farm until 1941 when they bought a farm near Boyd. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in rural Boyd where she was involved in Bible class, ladies aid and LWML. They moved to Montevideo in February 1982 and she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She moved to Dell Rapids, S.D. in 2001 and into the Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Dell Rapids in 2008.
She is survived by her children: Opal (and Donald) Lynne of Bloomington and David (and Margo) Sommerfeld of Dell Rapids, S.D.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995, one granddaughter, three brothers and nine sisters.
