Adrian H. 'Pit' Lenz Sept. 14, 1921 - Sept. 9, 2009
RENVILLE -- Adrian H. "Pit" Lenz, 87, of Renville died Wednesday at RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Renville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and one hour prior to service at the church.
He was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Renville to Frederick and Bertha (Yeager) Lenz. He graduated from Renville High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in Germany, France, Holland and England.
He married Gloria Decker on April 23, 1950, in Renville. He worked as a bookkeeper at J.R. Palm Ford and later Strootman Ford, both in Renville. He later purchased the dealership and operated Lenz Ford from 1974 until 1982.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school. He was also a member and past commander of the Renville American Legion and served on the Renville Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife; children: Judy (and fiancé Mark Rew) Larson of Svea and Ron (and Lois) Lenz of Renville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
