Agnes M. Henkelman

LITCHFIELD -- Agnes Marie Henkelman, 87, of Litchfield, died Thursday at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Burial will be in Lake Ripley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, with a Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary service at 7:45 p.m., and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
She was born April 30, 1921, in Oxford Township, Isanti County, to Francis and Elvira (Collin) Johnson. She attended rural school in District 64 and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1939.
She married Raymond Henkelman on Feb. 29, 1940. Together they farmed in the Forest City area in Meeker County for many years. They also owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Pierre, S.D., in 1959. She had worked at Baril's Paint Store, Sears and as a waitress at the Litchfield Golf Club. She worked at Bethany Home for 32 years, first as a dietary assistant and then was the supervisor for 15 years. She retired in 1998 at age 77.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, where she was active in the Bible study, and a member of the Forest City Women's Club, VFW Auxiliary and a "500" card club.
She is survived by her sons: Duane (and Darlene) Henkelman of Litchfield, Dwight Henkelman and (Cathy Verly) of Litchfield; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister: Eileen Krsiean.
She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers.
