Air, water permit fee rules to be discussed today
WILLMAR -- Willmar will host one of the final opportunities to learn about and discuss proposals to draft amendments to the air and water permit fee rules that partially fund permit activities. This final set of public meetings will take place before formal rule hearings begin.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will host the public open house from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the Kandiyohi Health and Human Services building in Willmar, 2200 23rd St. N.E. There will be presentations at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Even though the meetings will focus on fees for wastewater, feedlot, and air permits, changes to storm-water fees are proposed, too. Parties interested in posing questions or comments on the storm-water fee changes and draft rules are welcome to attend.
The proposed draft rule and background information is available for review at the MPCA's Web site at www.pca.state.mn.us/permits/airwaterfees.html.
For now, the MPCA is proposing only two changes to the fees for storm-water general permits. Many things continue to evolve in storm-water management and regulation, and the MPCA may propose further fee changes in the future.
