Alan Egge of Grove City wins Golf Challenge on the PGA Championship

Alan Egge of Grove City is the local winner of the's Golf Challenge for the PGA Championship held last weekend at Hazeltine National Golf Course in Chaska.


Egge won the Golf Challenge with a score of $5,820,000. He won a free round of golf from contest sponsor Island Pine Golf Club in Atwater.

Tom Berning of Willmar finished second with a score of $5,370,000. Lindsey Perkins of Dawson finished third with a score of $2,040,000.

The top VIP winner was Kelly Boldan of Willmar with a score of $3,040,000 .

The PGA Championship was won by Y.E. Yang by three strokes over Tiger Woods.

The next Golf Challenge will be on the Wyndham Championship scheduled Aug. 20-23 at Sedgefield C.C. in Greensboro, N.C.
