Albert Mohr May 26, 1937 - July 1, 2013
WILLMAR - Albert Henry Mohr, 76, of Willmar, died on Monday July 1st at the St Cloud VA Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6th, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. There will be a visitation prior to the service at 10 a.m at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post #167 of Willmar. Arrangements are with the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org.
Albert was born at Rice Memorial Hospital in 1937, in Willmar, MN, the son of Henry & Gladys (Norris) Mohr. He grew up on the family farm near Atwater, MN. Following his high school graduation, Albert joined the Navy and served on the USS Hornet after he completed his tour he returned home.
On November 14, 1959 he was united in marriage to Virginia Paulson at Big Grove Lutheran Church, rural Belgrade. He farmed with his father for 4 years before they moved to Willmar. He worked for Great Northern/BNSF Railroad retiring after 39 years. His hobby and passion, that he loved to share with family and friends, was walleye fishing.
Albert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia; four children: Kathryn (Erich) Dodds, Jonathan Mohr, Christopher Mohr and Adam (Saanii) Mohr; four grandchildren: Zachary, Abigail, Leighton and Asher; seven siblings: Larry (Dorothy) Mohr, Colleen Nielson, Janet Peterson, Jerome (Carol) Mohr, Judy (Doug) Angier, Gerri (Dan) Bates, and Eva Vossen.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a brother (John), a daughter (Abigail), and two brother-in-laws (Roland Neilson and Marlyn Peterson).
Memorials are preferred. The family would like to thank and recognize: the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, Bethesda Day Break , Rice Hospice, and Calvary Lutheran Church.
