Alice F. Snyder June 26, 1944 - April 27, 2009
CLARKFIELD -- Alice Fae Snyder, 64, of Clarkfield died Monday at Sanford Canby Medical Center.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canby. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
She was born June 26, 1944, in Canby to Melvin and Deloris (Sillman) Hanson. She attended school in Canby.
She married Denis Snyder on Dec. 30, 1961, in Canby. She was employed at the Clarkfield Care Center from 1980 until she retired in 2007.
She was chosen by the Minnesota Community Education Association as the 2002 Minnesota Outstanding Advisory Council Member. She and her husband were honored by the Civic and Commerce Club in 1999 for their work over the years during Clarkfield's Heart of the Prairie Days.
She was active in the Red Hats Society, Clarkfield American Legion Auxiliary, Prairie Fire Children's Theater, Clarkfield and YME Advisory Council, Down Christmas Lane, Heart of the Prairie Days, Coffeehouse Night, Volunteer RSVP, Clarkfield Civic and Commerce Club and Community Education tours.
She is survived by her sons: Brad of Clarkfield and Kevin (and Vicki Merritt) of Coon Rapids; one grandson; sisters: Linda (and Dennis) Jants of Farmington, Ruth Ann (and Gary) Bradley of Mound, and Judy (and Pat) Johnson of Canby.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.
