MORRIS -- Alice Luella Fuchs, 96, of Morris, died Monday at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Morris.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the nursing home. Arrangements are by Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris.
She was born Aug. 29, 1912, to William and Inez (Evert) Meyer.
On Jan. 7, 1931, she married William Joseph Fuchs. They lived with his parents until 1934, when they rented a farm southwest of Morris. In 1939, the family bought a farm south of Morris. They first rented it out and then began living there in 1946. They had a diversified farm, raising cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs and cats. After Bill's death on Oct. 31, 1992, she continued to live on the farm until age 90. She moved to the Grandview Apartments in Morris for a couple years before entering the Minnewaska Lutheran Home.
She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, an auxiliary member of the AmVets Post 290, the American Legion Post 29 and a supportive parent of the Red Ryders Saddle Club from its origin in 1948 until it dissolved in 1961.
She is survived by her son: Jack (and Heidi) Fuchs of Morris; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat- and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one great-granddaughter, one sister and two brothers.
