Alice Linnea Wick Nov. 30, 1926 - March 15, 2013

CAROL STREAM, IL - Alice Linnea Wick, age 86, a resident of Windsor Park, in Carol Stream, IL, died Friday, March 15, 2013. She was born November 30, 1926 in Frederic, WI to Rev. Nathaniel and Augusta Edwall, and was the youngest of four children, sisters Esther (Paulson and Ruth (Rossell), and bother Bob.

At the age of 8, Alice moved to Atwater, MN where her father was pastor of Lake Elizabeth Baptist Church. She lived in the country and attended a rural one room school through the eighth grade. After graduating from Atwater High School in 1944 her family moved to the Minneapolis area. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Bethel College, St. Paul, MN in 1946 and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota in 1951.

Alice had a great love and talent for playing the piano, and began her many years of piano accompaniment at Spring Lake Park Baptist Church in Minnesota. It was there that she met Paul, her lifelong love, and their courtship resulted in marriage on December 14, 1951.

Alice was an elementary vocal music teacher in Circle Pines, MN and also taught many private piano lessons. She believed that anyone could learn to sing.

Her journey as a pastor's wife began at Galilee Baptist Church, Circle Pines, MN in 1954 and continued at Atwater Baptist Church, Atwater, MN and Elim Baptist Church, Minneapolis, MN through 2003. She enjoyed sewing and handwork, music, gardening, reading, and the Minnesota Twins. Alice had a steadfast faith in God, and her gentle and kind spirit and love for all people blessed her family and many others.

She moved to Windsor Park, a retirement community in Carol Stream, IL with her husband Paul in 2007 to be near her family.

Alice is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Paul Wick; her three daughters, Juli (Marty) Painter of Wheaton, IL, Nancy Wick of Wheaton, IL, and Anita (Curt) Anderson of Crownsville, MD, 6 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren.
