Alice M. Czmowski Jan. 28, 1918 - Sept. 7, 2009
OLIVIA -- Alice Maude Czmowski, 91, of Olivia, formerly of Morton, died Monday at Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Morton. Burial will be in te Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Morton to Thomas and Ada (Fadden) Miller. She attended school in Morton and Winthrop, graduating from Morton High School in 1936. She worked as a waitress and hairdresser.
She married Melvin "Bud" Czmowski on Oct. 31, 1937, in Franklin. They moved to South Dakota and farmed until 1954. They then moved to Morton and farmed until 1980. They moved to a hobby farm in Redwood County and lived there until 1995 when they moved to Olivia. She had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Morton since 1955.
She is survived by her children: Sharon (and Willard) Toltzman of Willmar and Steven (and Beverly) Czmowski of Hutchinson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and by two brothers.
