REDWOOD FALLS -- Alice Marie Raedel, 75, of Redwood Falls died Monday at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview with burial to follow in the Belview City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and for one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born Sept. 24, 1933, in Beaver Falls Township, Renville County, to Harry and Alice (Bye) Carruth. She grew up in the Renville County townships of Beaver Falls and Norfolk and attended school in Beaver Falls, Bechyn, Norfolk District 28, and Morton Public School. After school she lived in Redwood Falls with a family and worked at McKay's Café and Pine Tree Dairy.
She married Carl "Ace" Raedel on Sept. 17, 1952, in East Grand Forks. They moved to California for about five months where she worked in an orange orchard. They returned to the Redwood Falls area in 1953 and lived in Delhi and she worked at Beecher Drugs in Redwood Falls. They moved to Belview in 1976 and she worked as a dietary aide at the Parkview Home until 1994 when she retired to care for her husband. They moved to Redwood Falls in 1995. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Belview and the Belview American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children: Cynthia (and Larry) Bell of Delhi, Diania (and Jeff) Rice of Sacred Heart, Douglas (and Cyndy) Raedel of Hutchinson and Michael Raedel (and special friend Cathy McCoy) of Wood Lake; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Harry Carruth of Morton and Lorraine Schaffran of Coon Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007.
