Alice Myrtle Stai

Alice Myrtle Stai, 88, of Rural Sunburg, died Friday, June 20, at her residence. Her funeral service will be at 10 am, Wednesday, June 25 at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home, in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, in Minneapolis. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home, in Willmar.

Alice Myrtle (Lien) Stai was born to Godtfred and Minnie (Ellingson) Lien on June 22, 1925 in Arctander Township. She was baptized and confirmed at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church. At the age of 5, they moved to Hayes Township in Swift County. During this time she attended Country School District 29 prior to graduating from Kerkhoven High School in 1944. On April 11, 1946, Alice married Perry Stai at the Sunburg Parsonage. For the first four years of their marriage, they lived on the Stai Homestead. In 1950, they moved to the Stai farm north of Kerkhoven. Alice worked on the dairy farm until retirement in March 1976. In 2004, they moved back to the Stai Homestead. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, music and spending time with her family.

Alice is survived by her children: Gary (Linda) Stai of Buffalo, Joan (Tony) Dimler of Willmar, Becky Stai of Sunburg; grandchildren: Brian (Irina) Dimler, Kyle (Darcy) Dimler, Aaron Dimler, Jason (Elizabeth) Dimler, Joshua (Karrie) Stai, Kaleb (Maggie) Vold, Erika (Chay) Luongvan, Eric Stai; and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Miranda (Randi) Linquist, Godtfred Lien Jr, and Rosalie Deresch.

She was preceded in death in 2004 by her husband, Perry, and also her parents, children Lonna Rae & James Alan, and five siblings.
