Alice V. Smith June 14, 1941 - May 4, 2013
SPICER - Alice V. Smith, 71 of Spicer, died Saturday morning, May 4, 2013 at her home in Spicer. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 8th, 2013 at Hope Presbyterian Church in Spicer. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at the Spicer City Cemetery.
Alice Vale Smith was born on June 14, 1941 in Olivia, the daughter of Ernest and Beulah (Moore) Breitkreutz. She grew up in Hector and attended Hector Elementary and High School, graduating in 1959. She did her nurses training in Willmar, graduating in 1960. On October 30, 1960, Alice was united in marriage to Harold Worrick. Alice worked at the Willmar Medical Center and Willmar Poultry until her retirement in 1998. On July 1, 1995, Alice was united in marriage Darrell Smith. They made their home on Green Lake where they enjoyed retirement together.
Alice was an active member of Hope Presbyterian Church for 40 years, and served as an Elder, a member of church session and held many other roles within the church. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends, spending time on the lake and being outside.
She is survived by husband, Darrell "Smitty"; son, Burke Worrick of Dayton, OH; Darrells children, Jeff (Marilyn) Smith, Twyla (Charles) Horky, Renae (Warren) LaPlante, Rhonda Smith (Ray Rosenau), Karen (Robert) Nolz and Jettie Smith; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill Breitkreutz, Jim Breitkreutz, Betty (Richard) Gorr, Connie Stevens, Judy (Keith) Peik, Jerry Breitkreutz and Lori (Dennis) Washburn and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Linda Sauter.
