'All My Sons'
WILLMAR -- Ridgewater College in Willmar presents "All My Sons" at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday at the Willmar campus fine arts theater.
General admission tickets are $5 and are available by calling 320-222-7605 for a reservation. Remaining tickets will be available at the door.
The play by Arthur Miller is set over the course of one day after World War II in the backyard of Joe and Kate Keller's home, played by Jim Cofer and Stacey Neuhaus, respectively.
During the war Joe Keller and Steve Deever ran a machine shop which made airplane parts. Deever was sent to prison because the firm turned out defective parts, causing the deaths of many men. Keller went free and made a lot of money.
The twin shadows of this catastrophe and the fact that the young Keller son was reported missing during the war dominate the action.
The love affair of Chris Keller played by Jordan Dettmann and Ann Deever, played by Cassidy Wood, and the bitterness of George Deever, played by Brian Dempcy, who returned from the war to find his father in prison and his father's partner free, are all set in a structure of almost unbearable power.
Other cast members include J.P. Cola and Jenny Atkins as Jim and Sue Bayliss, respectively, M'Angelo Harris and Shea Johnson as Frank and Lydia Lubey, respectively, and Thomas Bonnema as Bert, a young boy in the neighborhood.
The play is directed by Colin Wasmund who also handled the scenic and lighting design. Assistant director and assistant stage manager is Raymond Kristiansen. The stage manager is Suzie Flaig, sound design is by Jeremy Muñoz and costumer is Jill Benson.
