Allen Kittleson Aug. 26, 1922 - Oct. 3, 2009

MADISON -- Lloyd Allen Kittleson, 87, of Madison, died Saturday at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. Burial will be in the Watson Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

He was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Big Bend to Fred and Lillian (Engleson) Kittleson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Doris Mae Norman on Aug. 18, 1943, in Watson. They lived in Montevideo before moving to Madison in 1959. He worked as a salesman for a beverage distributor.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife; five children: David (and Judy) Kittleson of St. Paul, Richard (and Sandie) Kittleson of Lexington, Ky., Dale (and Naty) of Madison, Gary (and Cheryl) of Madison Lake, and Julie (and Arlyn) Lopau of Dawson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Mary Carlson of Madison.

He was preceded in death by two children: Robert Kittleson and Cheryl Kittleson; one brother; and one sister.
