Alvin Bloom March 16, 1931 - Nov. 23, 2008
WILLMAR -- Alvin Ross Bloom, 77, of Willmar, died Sunday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was born March 16, 1931, on the family farm near Franklin to Emery and Daisy (Grimes) Bloom. He grew up and attended school in Franklin and began farming. From 1952 to 1954 he served in the U.S. Army, Airborne division, stateside during the Korean War. He received the National Defense Service Medal and remained in the U.S. Army Reserves. He lived in several communities throughout central Minnesota and lived in Willmar for the past five years. He worked in the farming industry his entire life.
He is survived by his special friend: Jeanne Pitts of Hawick; two sisters: Ethel (and LaVerne) Miller of Hector and Jeanne Bloom of Richfield.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
