Alvina M. Erickson Nov. 4, 1937 - Aug. 27, 2009
GROVE CITY -- Alvina Marie Erickson, 71, of Grove City died Thursday.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, Grove City.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church and for one hour prior to the service. Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home of Litchfield is handling arrangements.
She was born Nov. 4, 1937, in Swede Grove Township, Meeker County, to William and Norva (Rodewald) Okeson. She went to school in Grove City and graduated from Grove City High School in 1955.
She married Charles Erickson Jan. 26, 1963, in Grove City. They lived in Benson, Clara City, Spring Valley, Gaylord, Plainview, Buffalo Lake, Lakefield and Grove City. They owned and operated a grocery store in Buffalo Lake for 11 years. She was active in her local church and regional and national organizations. She volunteered at the Grove City Historical Society and Community Answers for Reaching the Elders (CARE).
She is survived by her husband; children: Holly (and Doug) Miller of Sleepy Eye, Ken (and Stephanie) Erickson of Blaine and Steven (and MariGrace) Erickson of Maple Grove; eight grandchildren; and sister: Betty (and Jim) Rule of Spicer.
She is preceded in death by one brother.
