Amateur Baseball: Atwater 3rd inning leads to 14-6 victory
ATWATER -- Atwater exploded for eight runs in the third inning to run away from Paynesville 14-6 in a non-league amateur baseball game Friday.
Michael Malvin and Zach Cunningham both supplied two-run hits in Atwater's eight-run third. Malvin, who pitched the first five innings for the win, finished 2-for-3 with four RBI.
The Pirates' Brett Savelkoul and Casey Hess each had a double among their two hits.
Jamie Paul, who went 2-for-4, took the loss on the hill.
