Amateur baseball: Atwater blanks Starbuck in opener
STARBUCK -- Justin Schroeder and Brian Kingery combined on a four-hit shutout as the Atwater Chuckers opened the season with a 3-0 win over Starbuck in a County Line League game on Sunday.
Schroder worked the first six innings and allowed four hits and six walks, while striking out seven. Kingery pitched three hitless innings of relief.
Schroeder and Jeff Peterson had two hits each for Atwater. Josh Cunning drove in a run. The other two Atwater runs scored on errors.
