Amateur Baseball: Norway Lake-Sunburg ousted from 15C tourney; finishes 11-12
REGAL -- Norway Lake-Sunburg lost twice this weekend and was ousted from the Region 15C Amateur Basball Tournament.
New Munich defeated Norway Lake-Sunburg 5-2 on Saturday and Lake Henry nipped the Lakers 8-7 on Sunday.
Norway Lake-Sunburg finished the season 11-12.

The Lakers were held to six hits by New Munich's Shawn Schoenberg, who went the distance for the win.
Scott Olson led NL-Sunburg with two hits, including a double.

Norway Lake-Sunburg (11-12) enjoyed a 7-5 lead after the fifth inning, but Lake Henry's Mike Stalboerger hit a three-run home run with two outs in the top of the ninth to take an 8-7 advantage.
James Cortez, Paul Gjerde and Jordan Johnson had two hits each for the Lakers.

(At Raymond) -- The Rockets plated nine runs in the second inning and outhit Appleton 15-8 overall.
Kyle Knott and Mike Kragenbring each hit a solo homer. Kragenbring drove in three runs in all and Knott, who had two hits, drove in two runs. Jed Nelson, Mike Jeseritz, Brian Kingery and Tom DeBoer had two hits apiece. Mike Kluver and Brian Kingery drove in two runs each.
Zach Nelson started and worked the first five innings for the win. He allowed five hits and three runs (one earned), while walking one and striking out three. Tyler Knott, Jesse Bjur and Ron Hoekstra finished.
Brandon Berge had two hits and three RBI for Appleton. Damian Coyour also had two hits.

Mike Adelman hit a two-run homer and Chris Karskey and Josh Haag added solo homers to lift Clinton.
Adelman went the distance for the win, allowing six hits. He walked three and struck out seven.

Dumont 4, Willmar 3
After scoring twice in the seventh inning, Dumont tied the game in the eighth and won it in the bottom of the ninth on a bases-loaded walk.
Casey Gray slugged a 2-run homer in the seventh to tie the game 2-2 for Dumont, which then took a 3-2 lead in the seventh inning.
Willmar scored in the top of the ninth to again knot the game at 3-all. Matt Sagedahl singled and pinch-runner Mike Finlayson stole second. Mark Krogstad bunted Finlayson to third. Lane Kleist then walked and stole second and Jordan Olson singled to score Finlayson with the tying run.
With Olson pitching in relief of Krogstad, Gray led off the ninth with a single and was sacrificed to second. Mitch Frisch walked and a passed ball moved the runners up. After an intentional walk loaded the bases, Olson inticed a popup for the second out. With a full count, pinch-hitter Tim Swenson walked to plate Gray with the winning run.
