SPICER — Ben Kulset threw seven innings for the win and Mike Danielson slugged a two-run homer as the New London-Spicer Twins knocked off Starbuck 5-2 Sunday at Green Lake Diamond in the County Line playoffs winner’s bracket.

Kulset put his team up 1-0 in the second with a bloop single to right scoring Jake Damhof, who had doubled.

Kulset checked the Stars on six hits over seven innings, allowing only an earned run in the sixth.

Paynesville’s Josh Bungum was 3-for-3 and Aaron Savelkoul homered but it wasn’t enough against Regal in the County Line League playoffs on Sunday.

Bungum took the loss. Regal’s Austin Hadley drove in two runs and also picked up a save in relief of starter and winner Chris Beier.

Regal is 1-1 in the league playoffs and 12-6 overall. The Eagles play Starbuck at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Regal.

Atwater’s JaColby Anderson drove in Justin Schroeder with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning Sunday.

Schroeder singled with one out in the inning, stole second and scored when Anderson hit a ball to short and Norway Lake-Sunburg forced out Matt Tanner, who reached on a walk.

Mike Malvin worked all 10 innings for the Chuckers to earn the win. He didn’t allow a walk and struck out five.

Jeff Peterson, Matt Tanner, Vance Martin and Zach Cunningham all had two hits for the Chuckers.

Milroy advanced in the Cornbelt League playoffs with a win over Raymond Sunday in Milroy.

The Yankees play host to Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Dave Schmidt, Matt Bauer, Eric Dolan, Justin Schlemmer and Riley Carpenter all had two hits for the Yankees.
