SPICER — Chris Braaten pitched six strong innings and the Norway Lake-Sunburg offense gave him plenty of support in a 14-2 County Line League victory on Sunday at Green Lake Diamond.

Braaten allowed a run on five hits, and he had three hits. Kent Gjerde had two hits, including a double, and he drove in three runs.

Justin Johnson and Aaron Zimmer both doubled and singled and drove in two runs, and James Cortez had two hits and an RBI. Jonah Johnson doubled in four trips and drove in a run.

Scott Rambow and Steven Ammerman both doubled for the Twins.

The Twins play next against Raymond at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Green Lake Diamond.

Josh Cunningham doubled in the go-ahead run in the sixth and the Chuckers held onto the lead down the stretch in an amateur baseball game Sunday.

Atwater’s JaColby Anderson singled in Matt Lilleberg and Mitch Tauer in the fifth and Matt Tanner followed with a run-scoring double.

In the sixth, Vance Martin walked, stole second and scored on Cunningham’s double.

Starbuck’s Zach Lagred had two hits and an RBI and Matt Daniels was 2-for-3.

Starbuck plays next at Regal at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The Chuckers play Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Atwater.

Walks kill and that was certainly the case for the Litchfield Blues on Sunday in Clear Lake.

Litchfield issued 15 walks — 10 in Clear Lake’s nine-run first inning — and fell in seven innings. Clear Lake needed just four hits to score its runs.
