The Twins now host No. 3 Atwater on Saturday at 5 p.m. and the winner faces No. 4 Regal Sunday at 1 p.m. in Sunburg in the loser’s bracket final. The loser’s bracket champion secures a spot in the Region 15C playoffs.

Four walks, Danielson’s first RBI double and Jack Schwaegerl’s two-run single gave NLS a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Danielson then doubled in Ben Kulset in the second and Scott Rambow highlighted a four-run sixth with a two-run double. That was more than enough for Soine to get the win as he struck out five, including the last batter of the game.

Trent Hanson led off the fifth with a single and later scored on Caleb Burris’ single to account for the Pirates’ lone run. Josh Bungum and Ryan Hess added doubles.

SUNBURG — An early slugfest tilted in Norway Lake-Sunburg’s way Sunday as the No. 2-seeded Lakers outlasted No. 4 Regal 10-9 to clinch a spot in the Region 15C playoffs.

The win also keeps NLS unbeaten in the County Line League playoffs and the Lakers will host the loser’s bracket winner this Sunday. The opponent will be determined earlier in the day as Regal plays Saturday’s New London-Spicer/Atwater winner at 1 p.m. in Sunburg in the loser’s bracket final.

Aaron Zimmer’s two-out single in the fifth capped the scoring for Lakers as the hit brought in Kyle Baker, who reached on an error, and Justin Johnson, who drew a walk off Regal reliever Austen Hadley.

The teams combined for 31 hits with Hadley and Chris Beier collecting four each for Regal. Jonah Johnson and Chris Braaten led the NLS attack with three each. Braaten also drove in four runs with a single in the first, a two-run single in the second and a groundout in the fourth.

Shane Radermacher singled in Nathan Beier in the seventh to pull Regal within one and the Eagles threatened in the ninth by putting runners on first and third, but Jonah Johnson induced a 5-3 groundout to end the game.
