Ben Kulset went the distance on the mound as the NL-S Twins clipped the Hastings Hawks 2-1 Saturday afternoon in Spicer. Kulset outdueled Hastings starter Taylor Beattie who gave up only two earned runs in eight innings of work. Jake Damhof and Kulset sparked the Twins offense with a pair of hits apiece. Kevin Soine’s second-inning rbi proved to be the difference, as both pitchers gave up no runs the rest of the way.

Bird Island outlasted Atwater in an absolute slugfest Friday night. Many players produced staggering numbers at the plate. JaColby Anderson went 4-for-5 with three doubles for the Chuckers. Dylan Gass matched him with four hits of his own for the home team. Shawn Dollerschell belted a three-run homer for the Bullfrogs. He also picked up the win, hurling a scoreless frame in the ninth.

Sartell got their bats going early and easily defeated Litchfield 8-1 Friday night. David Yordi struggled on the hill for the Blues, giving up six earned runs in as many innings. Litch did produce nine hits (Lucas and Josh Johnson combined for five) but could not get many runners across home plate. Sartell’s Luke Sweeter had a monster night with four hits.
