REGAL -- Willmar knocked out 16 hits, and Regal starter Chris Beier, en route to collecting a 6-1 win over the Eagles Sunday in a Cornbelt League game.

Matt Sagedahl, Willmar's leadoff hitter, lined a shot up the middle that glanced off the side of Beier's head. Beier stayed in the game until exiting after five innings.

Regal (3-5, 6-8) grabbed a quick 1-0 lead by taking advantage of three walks issued by Willmar (6-4, 6-4) starter George Jacobson. Beier and Austin Kampsen drew walks to lead off the second before Jacobson got a flyout. Steven Gerding then drew another walk to load the bases and Josh Krupke followed with a sacrifice fly to bring in Beier.

Jason Scheffler relieved Jacobson to start the third.

Beier struck out Travis Koenen to lead off the fifth, but the Rails followed with four consecutive hits from Lane Kleist, Josh Dahlke, Matt Seehusen and Anthony Stern to take a 3-1 lead. Seehusen's hit was a bases-clearing double and Matt Odom followed Stern with a sacrifice fly to put Willmar ahead 4-1.

Scheffler took advantage of the support to collect the win as he surrendered two singles and struck out two in five scoreless innings. Stern finished by throwing and eighth and ninth, striking out three along the way.

Stern later singled in a run in a two-run seventh.
