Anna Mae Swartz May 18, 1926 - Oct.17, 2008
STARBUCK -- Anna Mae Swartz, 82, of Starbuck, died Friday at Glacial Ridge Health System in Glenwood.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck and for one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born May 18, 1926, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Iva Goulet. She grew up on a farm near Benson and was raised by her grandmother, Laura Goulet. She graduated from Benson High School in 1944. She worked as a teletype operator in Minneapolis, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
She married Earl Swartz on Oct. 19, 1946, in Benson. They lived Benson, Appleton and Starbuck and owned and operated a real estate office in Starbuck. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Starbuck.
She is survived by her husband of Starbuck; eight children: Bonnie (and Bob) Haugen of Apple Valley, Greg Swartz of Starbuck, Deborah (and Mike) Chow of Kingwood, Texas, Daniel (and Sheila) Swartz of Starbuck, Bradley (and Kathy) Swartz of Glenwood, Michael (and Berta) Swartz of Glenwood and Jamestown, N.D., Jeffrey (and Rae) Swartz of Waukon, Iowa, and Lisa Swartz of St. Paul; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
