Appleton teen dies in motorcycle accident
APPLETON -- A 16-year-old Appleton youth has died following a motorcycle accident Sunday evening in rural Appleton.
The Swift County Sheriff's Office identified him as Gary Telford.
The sheriff's office received a 911 call about the accident at 6:20 p.m. Sunday. The accident was reported on private property in the 2300 block of Highway 7, about one mile west of Appleton.
The youth, who sustained multiple injuries, was unresponsive and was already receiving CPR when Appleton Police and Appleton Ambulance arrived. CPR and other life support measures continued as the teen was transported to the Appleton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 7 p.m., the sheriff's department said.
The accident is under investigation by the Swift County coroner and the Swift County Sheriff.
