KERKHOVEN -- Ardella Evangeline Shuck, 85, of Kerkhoven died Sunday at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Salem Covenant Church near Pennock. Burial will be in West Lake Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born March 20, 1923, in Actander Township, rural Sunburg, to Elmer and Emma (Myhre) Lindgren. Her mother died shortly after Ardella was born and she was raised by her grandparents. She grew up in the Sunburg area and attended district 54 rural school and Kerkhoven High School, graduating in 1941.
She married Harold Shuck on Jan. 11, 1947, in Brooten. They lived and farmed on the family farm in Sunburg. She was a homemaker and later worked at the Willmar Nursing Home. She was a member of West Lake Lutheran Church near Sunburg where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the ladies aide, altar guild, and the Joyful Messengers singing group. She was a 4-H leader, and involved with the band mothers at Kerkhoven High School.
She is survived by her children: Charles (and Mavis) Shuck of Pennock, Wayne (and Betty) Shuck of Laguna Woods, Calif., Jerry Shuck of Harmony, Curtis (and Carol) Shuck of Spicer, Judy (and Jack) VanEps of Morris, Dean (and Diane) Shuck of Sunburg, Voni (and Larry) Degeest of Melrose, Amy (and Steve) Combs of New London, Karen (and Jim) Nelson of New London, Chery (and Mike) Haglund of Kerkhoven; 37 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; a son: Dennis in 1998; and two brothers in infancy.
