PAYNESVILLE -- Ardyce L. Peterson, 89, of Barrington, Ill., formerly of Paynesville, died Wednesday at Alden Estates in Barrington.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Paynesville Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Paynesville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service Thursday at church. Arrangements are by Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville. Memorials to Paynesville Lutheran Church are preferred.

She was born Feb. 20, 1919, in Madison to Peter and Mathilda (Winge) Lund. She graduated from Madison High School in 1937.

On March 22, 1942, she married Lloyd H. Peterson. She attended two years of college at the University of Minnesota. She lived in Washington, D.C., and California while Lloyd was stationed in Hawaii in the Marines. After he was discharged, they moved to Paynesville in 1948 and started a successful turkey production business.

For 50 years she was actively involved with Paynesville Lutheran Church, Paynesville Hospital Auxiliary and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by daughters: Nancy (and Dan) Boe of Barrington and Mary Peterson of Portland, Ore.; son: Steve Peterson (and wife Mary Wilkens) of Golden Valley; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, three sisters and four brothers.
