Area firms pay MPCA penalties

ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency concluded 64 enforcement cases totaling $710,274 in penalties during the third quarter of 2010. The cases occurred at facilities in 43 counties throughout Minnesota.

Included in the cases are penalties to be paid in Kandiyohi, Meeker, Big Stone and Yellow Medicine counties.

They include:

- $8,581 - Michael Stamer, Willmar, for solid waste violations.

- $720 - Anthony and Tori Eberhard, Clarkfield, for solid waste violations.

- $6,825 - Pro Auto Sales & Service Inc., Ortonville, for hazardous waste violations.

- $1,037 - RIE Coatings Inc., Eden Valley, for air quality violations.
