Area Roundup: Marshall dunks Willmar in swim meet

MARSHALL -- The Tigers of Marshall High caught a wave in the Willmar pool and won every individual event, including 1-meter diving, in a 104-77 non-conference victory over the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Willmar swept the relays. The Cardinals are back in Central Lakes Conference waters on Thursday when they compete at Alexandria.

Nate Gerdes netted two goals in the first 11 minutes for Central Minnesota Christian, but Marshall then scored six unanswered goals on Tuesday.

DC Invitational

The Annandale girls placed three runners in the top five to win the Dassel-Cokato Invitational Tuesday at Collinwood Regional Park in Cokato.

Glencoe-Silver Lake and Delano both scored 49 points but GLS took first in a tiebreaker on the boys side.

In the girls race, Tori Burr of Glencoe-Silver Lake finished in 15 minutes, 30 seconds to win. Litchfield's Savanna Ramirez was fifth in 16:20.

Annandale won with 26 points and Dassel-Cokato was second with 76 points.

The Litchfield girls took sixth with 163 points and the Dragons' boys team placed third with 97 points.
