LITCHFIELD -- Arlene Mariann Sanderson Smith, 77, of Litchfield died Wednesday at home.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cornerstone Church. Inurnment will be in Forest City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service.
She was born Aug. 25, 1931, in rural Darwin to William and Leone (Bach) Kuehl. She grew up near Forest City and received her education through the 10th grade in Litchfield.
She married Vernon "Sandy" Sanderson on Sept. 2, 1950, in Forest City. She worked as a nurse's aide at the hospital in Litchfield for years. They moved to Phoenix in 1973 where they worked together managing apartment complexes.
She married Bob Smith on June 7, 1993. They lived in Litchfield and worked together remodeling mobile homes for Economy Homes and spent winters in Phoenix. She moved to Minnesota to be closer to her family in 2000. Over the years, she wrote several short stories about her children.
She is survived by three daughters: Ailein (and Eddie) Munoz of Litchfield; Sharleen (and Richard) Ficker of Litchfield; Marlene (and Larry) Dickson of Buckeye, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister: Lorri (and Ray) Watkins of Litchfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Vernon Sanderson in 1980.
