Armella Spanier Sept. 22, 1930 - Sept. 30, 2009

LAKE HENRY -- Armella Bernadine Spanier, 79, of Lake Henry died Wednesday while recovering from heart surgery at St. Cloud Hospital.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lake Henry. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a rosary at 4 p.m. and parish prayers at 7 p.m., at the church and an hour before the service at the church. Daniels-Anderson Funeral Home of Paynesville is handling arrangements.

She was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Richmond to John and Monica (Ahmann) Braegelmann.

She married John Spanier on May 12, 1959, in Richmond. They farmed near Lake Henry until retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Margaret's parish and choir.

She is survived by her husband; children: Jonelle (and Roger) Heinen of New London, Julie (and Dale) Schlangen of Lake Henry, Jane (and Robert) Bertram of Spring Hill, James (and Cindy) Spanier of Lake Henry, Joyce (and Wayne) Borash of Sobieski and Jeri Ann (and Steve) Mathison of Willmar; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters: Lydia Willenbring of Cold Spring and Burkard Braegelmann of St. Cloud.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and one sister.
