BELGRADE -- Arnold Stanford Osmundson, 87, of Belgrade, died Saturday at his home.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade.

He was born Sept 25, 1921, in Hettinger, N.D., to Oscar and Regina (Kittelson) Osmundson. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Hettinger, graduating in 1941.

On Dec. 14, 1946, he married Odell Stolee. They lived near Hettinger, where they farmed until moving to Brooten in 1954. Odell died May 31, 1968.

On June 27, 1971, he married Bernadean Otto. She died June 21, 1975.

On May 5, 1979, he married Marie Mundahl. They lived in Brooten and Arnold retired from farming in 1987. They moved to Belgrade in 2001. Marie died May 29, 2008.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten, where he served on church council and taught Sunday School for more than 40 years. He also served on the Glenwood Retirement Village Board for 20 years and served as a leader in Busy Beavers 4-H Club.

He is survived by his children: Stanford (and Joan) Osmundson of Andover, Orval (and Valerie) Osmundson of Inver Grove Heights, Nancy (and Jeffery) Robertson of Hudson, Wis., Paul (and Dorothy) Osmundson of Brooten; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings: Gladys Larson of Minneapolis, Ruth Mundschenk of Eagan and Edith Wick of Las Vegas, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his wives; infant twin sons: James and Jerome; and three siblings.
